Enjoy this informative lecture about Waynesboro potter John Bell as presented by Dr. Gene Comstock. The program was originally hosted by the Nicodemus Center for Ceramic Studies and held at Renfrew Museum and Park. John Bell was born in 1800 and began work in his father’s pottery shop in Hagerstown, Maryland. In 1833 he opened his pottery shop in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania for business, and it would continue for some time after his death in 1880. He created items to be used around the house as well as purely decorative pieces.
