Volunteer Opportunities
Renfrew Museum and Park relies on the services of many dedicated volunteers to help fulfill its mission to the community. Currently, there are volunteers participating at Renfrew in the following areas:
Tour Guides - Since its opening in 1975, Renfrew has relied on the services of volunteer guides to greet the visiting public and show them through Renfrew Museum. Volunteer guides are trained by the museum's professional staff and work an average of 4 hours per month.
Park Clean-up Day - Each year in late March or early April, volunteers gather on a Saturday to reclaim the park from the destruction of the previous winter. Typically, about 40 people put in a full day, gathering trash, picking up broken tree limbs, racking gravel and removing sand deposits from the parks picnic area. All are welcome. Please call the Museum for this years date.
Museum Collections - Renfrew currently has the need for volunteers to assist with the cataloging and inventorying of its library collection. This project will involve hand-written and/or computer work, based on the interest of the volunteers who participate.
